Chal Mera Putt 1 is a fantastic movie and it’s indeed a tough task to come up with an equally good sequel, if not better. What’s Chal Mera Putt 2 about? Is it deserve to watch? Where you can watch it? Let’s have a look.

Chal Mera Putt 2 is a story about Punjabis trying to make a living in a foreign land and the principal photography of the film began on 12 November 2019 in Birmingham. It is directed by Janjot Singh and the storyline is wrote by Rakesh Dhawan. As the protagonist, Amrinder Gill is perfect. He is mostly as cool as a cucumber (a requirement of his character).

It is a light-hearted comedy but involving some serious matters. The first one is that how illegal immigrants make a living in Birmingham. Their struggle to earn money, their fear of getting caught and being deported, their dream to acquire a PR and their responsibility to support families back in Punjab—all these aspects are truly revealed. The second theme is about friendship among these illegal immigrants. This movie brilliantly showcases the Punjabi culture across both sides of the border.

‘Parasite’ Made History at This Year’s Academy Awards

Bong Joon-ho’s movie, Parasite, is the first film not in the English language to take the top prize at this year’s Oscars. It also took best director, best original screenplay and best international film.

It has only been out in the UK for a few days, but is no doubt one of the most talked about films of the year. Here’s everything you need to know.

What’s Parasite about?

The critically acclaimed film is what could be described as a black comedy, becoming darker and more twisted as the film progresses. The story is about the destitute Kim family who living in the basement. Their situation is quickly and starkly contrasted with that of the wealthy Park family, after the Kims’ teenage son becomes a tutor in Park family. The Kims begin to infiltrate and deceive the Parks, weaving a web of lies, almost as if they were parasites. The film is a powerful statement on wealth inequality with plenty of hidden metaphors and innuendo.

Who’s in it?

The director of Parasite is Bong Joon-ho. The main actors of the movie is director’s frequent collaborator, actor Song Kang-ho as Kim Ki-taek, an unemployed and patriarch of the Kim family. Other lead cast members include Jang Hye-jin as Kim Ki-taek’s wife Chung-sook; Choi Woo-shik as Kim Ki-taek’s college-age son Ki-woo, and Park So-dam as Kim Ki-taek’s cynical daughter Ki-jung.

‘Lost In Russia’ was Played Free Online After Deal With TikTok Owner

Normally, the Spring Festival holiday is the Chinese box office’s most lucrative period. This year though, the coronavirus caused China to close thousands of cinemas around the Spring Festival. This meant all of 2020’s most highly anticipated Chinese blockbusters saw their releases canceled.

Lost in Russia is one of seven that was pulled from theatres on the eve of Chinese New Year. Yongguan Cai, a stuff of Huanxi Media, was interviewed by email and told me some information about Lost in Russia.

“Huanxi Media made a US$91 million deal with tech giant Bytedance to stream the comedy Lost in Russia for free on TikTok and other Bytedance platforms.”
Yongguan Cai said.

Lost in Russia is a significant one and the comedy film’s two predecessors, Lost In Thailand and Lost In Hong Kong, were box office smashes, taking $191m and $234m respectively.

Just like previous “Lost In” series members Lost on Journey, Lost in Russia features Xu Zheng as both director and lead actor. In Lost in Russia, Xu plays a middle-aged businessman named Xu Ivan. In the midst of divorce proceedings, Xu wants to fly to New York but his mother Lu Xiaohua took his passport. While trying to get it back, ends up trapped on the K3 Beijing to Moscow Trans-Siberian train with her. Lu exemplifies the classic overbearing Chinese mother. Xu yearns to escape from the train but can’t help but get drawn back to her. The two finally arrived in Russia after many difficulties, and both of them realize that they must learn how to balance love with independence. What’s more, this movie also doesn’t shy away from addressing darker topics like divorce and domestic abuse.

The film was played more than 600 million times by 180 million households in three days, through Bytedance-owned platforms including Douyin, Toutiao, Xigua Video, Huoshan and Wasu Fresh Time. In Hubei province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak, the film was viewed more than 25 million times.
Yongguan Cai said.

When asked if he would recommend the British to watch the film, Yongguan Cai said: “Lost in Russia shows Chinese-style affection and it is suitable for the whole family to watch together. But as a comedy, I was also worried that people in the UK couldn’t understand the comedy elements.”

The Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme is back for its 17th edition under the concept of ‘happiness’. The Japan Foundation has showcased, in close partnership with Tyneside Cinema, some of the finest Japanese films. With a line-up of contemporary titles that have never had a UK release, documentaries, anime, and classic masterpieces, there is always something for everybody.

Happiness, though universal in its importance, is felt so subjectively by humankind that the definition of the concept is still very elusive. And yet, the search for happiness has long provided Japanese cinema with a staple theme, and it is within its framework that the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme 2020 has been curated.

Embracing the rich and complex spectrum of emotions that go hand in hand with this concept, the programme seeks to present the highs and lows experienced in pursuit of happiness in Japan, showcasing diverse cinematic voices as they shine a light on stories of love, social inclusion, the resilience of humankind through times of hardship, and non-conventional paths to achieving and maintaining joy.

Ride your wave (波にのれたら) was shown on February 15, which is the first film to be shown in this Programme. It is directed by Masaaki Yua nsa and the plot is that 19-year-old Hinako Mukaimizu moves to an oceanside town to attend college. When her new apartment catches on fire, she is rescued by Minato Hinageshi, a 21-year-old firefighter. Hinako is drawn to his dependable personality, and they bond when he begins learning how to surf. As the two spend time together, they fall in love; however, when Minato goes surfing during a storm, he drowns while rescuing a person. Hinako is distraught with his death, but one day, she finds out that he appears in water whenever she sings “Brand New Story”, a song the two of them often sang together. Initially happy she can see him again, Hinako later learns that he cannot be free unless she is able to move on with her life.

Most of the audience were young people. They thought this film was really good and they might watch other Japanese films of the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme at Tyneside Cinema.

Louise Bennett, the Head of Events in Tyneside Cinema, said: “The Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme could introduce Japanese films’ versatility and uniqueness to the UK. Besides Ride your wave, several movies will be shown in the future, such as And Your Bird Can Sing, Jesus, Ten Dark Women and so on.”
